Who or what inspires you?
Nature inspires me as well as people with high levels of integrity and honesty.
If you had to do something other than be a Baltimore Symphony Musician, what would you do for a living?
I’d love to be a Ski patrolman – skiing is another big passion I have. I’ve been skiing as long as l’ve been playing violin (since I was 4). It’s one of my big passions in life which I have shared with all three of my kids. I have been offered ski patrol jobs in Pennsylvania and Vermont, and hope to retire closer to mountains one day. Where is your favorite get-away spot?
Anywhere with friends, food and drinks. spot doesn’t matter!
Where would people be surprised to find you?
On a mogul slope (skiing); or spear-fishing
What piece of music do you feel like was written for you?
Whatever I am enjoying listening to at any given moment. I love being immersed in music, but especially enjoy any piece of music by Gustav Mahler.
What or who influenced you to be a professional musician?
My mother, she was a singer, as well as my older sister, who is a cellist.
What do you like to do with your ”me time”?
I love to do anything in nature.
How do you give back to our community?
I feel I can be of most value when I inspire through my instrument. Closer to home, I teach my three boys to be the best citizens they can be.
